Data line to define the rotary inertia – ABAQUS Volume II: I–Z User Manual
Page 378

*ROTARY INERTIA
In large-displacement analysis (an ABAQUS/Explicit analysis or when the NLGEOM
parameter is included on the *STEP option in an ABAQUS/Standard analysis), the local axes of
inertia rotate with the rotation of the node to which the ROTARYI element is attached.
Data line to define the rotary inertia:
First (and only) line:
1. Rotary inertia about the local 1-axis,
.
2. Rotary inertia about the local 2-axis,
.
3. Rotary inertia about the local 3-axis,
.
4. Product of inertia,
.
5. Product of inertia,
.
6. Product of inertia,
.
The rotary inertia should be given in units of ML
2
. ABAQUS does not use any specific physical
units, so the user’s choice must be consistent.
