When replacing the system board, be sure that the following components are removed from the defective

system board and installed on the replacement system board:

Before removing the system board, follow these steps:

Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the

computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

Disconnect the power cord.

Remove the battery (see

).

Remove the following components:

Remove the system board:

Disconnect the ZIF connector (1) to which the audio/infrared board cable is attached and disconnect

the audio/infrared board cable (2) from the system board.

Press in on the ExpressCard slot bezel (3) to release the bezel from the ExpressCard slot.
