Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1 . Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2 . Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3 . Disconnect the power cord.
4 . Remove the battery (see Battery on page 36 ).
Remove the hard drive:
1 . Position the computer with the front toward you.
2 . Loosen the two Phillips PM2.0×5.0 screws (1) that secure the hard drive cover to the computer.
3 . Lift the left side of the hard drive cover (2) and swing it to right.
4 . Remove the hard drive cover.
NOTE: The hard drive cover is included in the Plastics Kit, spare part number 441138-001.
5 . Grasp the Mylar tab (1) on the hard drive and lift the hard drive to disconnect it from the system
board.
