Appendix A – System Troubles

The following table lists possible trouble conditions, their descriptions, and recommended
responses.

Trouble

Description

Response

Low Battery

The capacity of the battery is low or
missing and needs to be recharged or
replaced. Replace rechargeable
batteries according to the battery
manufacturer.

Contact your dealer.

Loss of AC Power

The commercial power has been
interrupted; the system will continue
to operate on its standby battery as
long as possible. Loss of AC Power
will be displayed on the LCD.

Check the connection of the
panel's transformer to its AC
source. Be sure that power has
not been interrupted or
switched off.

Auxiliary Failure

The auxiliary power, used to supply
electric current to designated devices
(e.g. motion detectors, keypads, and
smoke detectors), has failed (either
form panel or the optional
power supply module(s)) .

Contact your dealer.

False Code
Trouble

If enabled by your dealer, your system
will report a false code as a trouble.

Once the trouble has been
displayed (LCD keypad only),
it will automatically be
removed from the system.

Phone Line
Failure

The telephone line used for
monitoring station communication is
either disconnected or inoperative.

If all premises telephones are
operating properly, contact
your security dealer.

Bus Failure

A fault has been detected in the wiring
supporting system peripherals. The
trouble indicates the device with the
communication trouble.

Contact your dealer.

Clock Not Set

The system's clock has lost track of the
time and/or date.

Set the system's time and date.

Bell Trouble

Trouble has been detected in a bell
connected to the main panel or to the
power supply expander.

Contact your dealer.

Day Zone Trouble

A zone designated as a DAY ZONE
has been faulted during the disarm
period.

Check the integrity of the
indicated zone.
