Battery problems
The battery is not
being charged
corrrectly
Check that the battery charging requirements in the device are
correctly set.
• Check that the solar controller has been set correctly.
• Check all cables and connections to the batteries.
If it appears that the solar system is barely working at all, the
solar controller may be set too low. Check the displays and the
DC History in "GS eco link".
B
Perform a visual inspection on the battery and check for loose
connections. Monitor the battery voltage if high loads supplied
by the device are connected and disconnected.
• Check the voltage on each individual battery of the battery
to determine whether any cells are not fully charged or are not
absorbing any charge.
Measure the voltages on each cell / battery at different times
in the charge/discharge cycle: immediately after the start of
charging, for example, after about 10 minutes, in the middle
of the charging, immediately before the end of the charge, 10
minutes after the beginning of the discharge, in the middle
of the discharge and immediately before the end of the dis-
charge.
E
Problems with
solar-hybrid sys-
tems
(on-grid)
Main supply is
available but the
system is losing
power
Device is disconnected from the power supply due to high
voltage or frequency, so that the site is supplied via the limited
battery system.
"
Increase the "Sync Tolerance" parameters or contact the
grid operator..
E
The DC-connected
system is not
exporting the cur-
rent as expected.
Solar system (external device for gridsave eco restricts the cur-
rent flow from the solar module.
"
The nominal value for the trickle charge solar controller
must be approx. 1 V higher than the nominal value for the
trickle charge of the bidirectional battery inverter.
E
Problems with
starting or stop-
ping an off-grid
generator
"
In "GS eco link", open the "Generator Running Reason" area
on the "Now" tab in the "Data View" area
B
"
If the reason does not have anything to do with the actual
processes in the system, contact your installation engineer
or the KACO new-energy service hotline.
.
E
System is not
functioning cor-
rectly
"
Check the alarm displays on the control panel and in the
"GS eco link" software
B
"
Carry out the measure recommended in the "Attention
Required" field, in the "DataView – Now" area.
"
Switch the device to no-load by pressing the button for
several seconds and then switch back on again. If this does
not restore normal operation, look for a cause in the Perfor-
mance Data Events.
