3.2.2.7 Manual generator control
NOTE
To ensure that the supply is not interrupted by the manual shutdown of the generator, the AC circuit
breaker of the generator needs to be opened until the device no longer displays any transfer.
The generator can be manually controlled via the local control elements on the generator.
Once the generator has been stopped, close the generator AC circuit breaker again for the next generator start.
3.2.2.8 Generator Start (Remote Run) input signal
The functioning of the switch for starting the generator is as follows:
•
Activating the switch for longer than 0.5 seconds and less than 2 seconds means that the device starts the genera-
tor. If the switch is pressed again in the same way, the generator is stopped, otherwise it is stopped automatically
when the battery reaches its full charge and all large continuous loads have been removed.
•
If the switch is pressed for longer than 2 seconds, the device starts the generator and stops it when the switch is
opened. The switch is typically a latching changeover switch.
Regardless of how the generator is started (manually or automatically), the bidirectional battery inverter charges the
battery automatically while the generator is running, whenever there is sufficient generator power available, and
maintains the battery in trickle charge once it is fully charged.
