8.7 AC Connection
8.7.1 Additional cable requirements for AC connection
• Use the screw terminals or cable lugs to connect the AC cables to the AC breakers as described
in section 8.7.3.
• Connect 6 conductors per phase maximum.
8.7.2 Arranging AC cables
This section explains how to arrange the AC cables to minimize the interferences between the different
phases. Make sure that the cables of the different phases have got the same length.

Arrange the cables as shown in the following figure for all number of cables with length shorter than

ft. (2 m). The description is exemplary for an arrangement with 4 cables per phase. The distance
between the cables should be twice the diameter of a single cable.

The AC outputs are isolated from the enclosure and the system grounding, so that the
AC output and neutral are not bonded to ground. If required by section 250 of the
National Electrical Code
®
, ANSI/NFPA 70, the installer is responsible for this grounding.

External AC fuses
The Disconnect Unit for Sunny Central 500HE-US/CA/CP is provided with UL listed circuit breaker
on output rated 1,600 A for branch circuit protection.
The unit is provided with a UL listed circuit breaker on the output rated 1,600 A for branch circuit
protection. If the circuit breaker shall be located externally, see section 2.1 for further details.
