18. Check whether the communication via the RS485 communication bus is working properly.

Select "Plant > Settings" and check whether any error is displayed in the area "SMACOM frame
error". If errors are displayed, correct them. Perform the following steps:
– Check the cabling of the devices on the RS485 communication bus. Refer to the

RS485 cabling plan for information on how to connect the cables to the
RS485 communication bus.

– Make sure that the RS485 cable is properly connected to the Sunny WebBox. Check all the

terminals (see Section 6.9.2 "Connecting the Sunny WebBox to the RS485 Communication
Bus" (page 34)).

– Check the termination and signal biasing of the RS485 communication bus (see Section

6.9.2 "Connecting the Sunny WebBox to the RS485 Communication Bus" (page 34)).

☑ The firmware is now updated.

11.3 Updating the Device Profiles and Modbus Profiles

11.3.1 Information Regarding Updating the Device Profiles and

Modbus Profiles

The device profiles contain information regarding the device types which are supported by
Sunny WebBox. The device profiles also contain the Modbus profiles for Modbus-compatible
SMA devices.
You can find the device profile version on the user interface under "WebBox > Info" in the
"Device profile version" field.
You can update the device profiles in the following ways:

• Update via the Internet
• Update via an SD Card
• Update via the user interface of the Sunny WebBox

11.3.2 Updating via the Internet

• Click the [Refresh] button under "WebBox > Info" in the "Device profile version" field on the user

interface of the Sunny WebBox.

☑ The update starts automatically. If the update was successful, you can find the new device

profile version under "WebBox > Info" in the "Device profile version" field.
