In the Programming and Editing mode of operation, press the MOD
key. Enter the keyword NET123. The TNC will then display the main
screen for network configuration.
General network settings

Press the DEFINE NET soft key to enter the general network
settings and enter the following information:
Make sure that the person configuring your TNC is a
network specialist.
Setting
Meaning
ADDRESS
Address that your network specialist must
assign to the TNC. Input: four numerical values
separated by points, e.g. 160.1.180.20
MASK
The SUBNET MASK serves to differentiate
between the network ID and the host ID in the
network. Input: four numerical values separated
by points. Ask your network specialist for the
values, e.g. 255.255.0.0
BROADCAST
The broadcast address of the control is required
only if it differs from the standard setting. The
standard setting is formed from the network ID
and the host ID, for which all bits are set to 1,
e.g. 160.1.255.255
ROUTER
Internet address of your default router. Enter
the Internet address only if your network
consists of several parts. Input: four numerical
values separated by points. Ask your network
specialist for the values, e.g. 160.1.0.2
HOST
Name under which the TNC identifies itself in
the network
DOMAIN
Domain name of the control (is not evaluated
until later)
NAMESERVER
Network address of the domain server (is not
evaluated until later)
You do not need to indicate the protocol with the
iTNC 530. It uses the transmission protocol according to
RFC 894.
