Verifying and diagnosing transceiver modules

There are three types of commonly used transceivers, as shown in

Table 17

. They can be further divided

into optical transceivers and electrical transceivers based on transmission medium.

Verifying transceiver modules

You can verify the genuineness of a transceiver module in the following ways:

Display the key parameters of a transceiver module, including its transceiver type, connector type,
central wavelength of the transmit laser, transmission distance and vendor name.

Display its electronic label. The electronic label is a profile of the transceiver module and contains
the permanent configuration including the card name, serial number, MAC address, and vendor

name. The data is written to the storage component during debugging or testing.

To verify transceiver modules:

Task Command

Display key parameters of the transceiver in a
specified interface

display transceiver interface [ interface-type
interface-number
]

Display the electrical label information of
transceiver in a specified interface

display transceiver manuinfo interface [ interface-type
interface-number
]

# Display the main parameters of the transceiver plugged in interface GigabitEthernet 3/0/19.

display transceiver interface gigabitethernet 3/0/19
