Starting With Faulty Software
If the software installed on the managed switch (firmware) is faulty, you can restore or up-
date the firmware using an update.
Connect the switch to your PC via the serial RS-232 (V.24) interface. Make sure that your
HyperTerminal is configured correctly.

If the device firmware is faulty, the following message appears (see Figure 5.6):

Press a to download the new software. The following message appears (see Figure 5.7):
