˽ The Web server, SNMP agent, RS-232 (V.24) interface and IGMP snooping are active.
˽ The Rapid Spanning Tree WBM configuration page is activated.
˽ The Multicast WBM configuration page is activated.
˽ The alarm contact only opens in the event of non-redundant power supply.
˽ The aging time is set to 48 seconds.
Assigning IP Parameters
When the supply voltage is switched on, the switch sends BootP requests to assign IP pa-
rameters. BootP is used to obtain IP addresses and boot remote computers over a network.
Note
The BootP function can be deactivated via Web-based management. By default upon
delivery, the BootP function is activated.
The assignment of valid IP parameters is vital to the management function of the switch.
Options for assigning IP parameters include:
˽ Configuration via the BootP (default upon delivery)
˽ Static configuration via the management interfaces
Note
The assignment of IP parameters with IP Assign is described in Chapter 3.
IP parameters comprise the following three elements: IP address, subnet mask, and default
gateway/router.
Valid IP addresses are:
˽ 000.000.000.001 to 126.255.255.255
˽ 128.000.000.000 to 223.255.255.255
Valid multicast addresses are:
˽ 224.000.000.001 to 239.255.255.255
Valid subnet masks are:
˽ 255.000.000.000 to 255.255.255.252
