The Assign IP program is a BootP server, which allows IP configuration of the Click
340/341/342 Ethernet switches. By default, the Ethernet switches ship with an invalid IP
address of “0.0.0.0,” and no Web configuration is possible until the IP address has been
changed to a valid IP address.
Assigning an IP Address
Follow the steps below to assign an IP address to a Click 340/341/342 Ethernet device:
1 Open the IP Assignment Tool. The initial page of the IP Assignment Tool gives a brief
explanation of the steps needed to assign an IP address to a Click 340/341/342 device.
The IP address of the host computer is displayed on the bottom of the page (see Figure
3.1).
