Problem Determination and Maintenance

The serial number, along with other Vital Product Data (VPD), is stored in the display
station’s nonvolatile memory and is available to the control unit for system statistics
gathering by some network products. The control unit must be at the appropriate micro-
code level to support SNA host requests for VPD.

KBD Switches

Select this option to display the current keyboard switch settings. You cannot change the
settings from this menu. The keyboard switches are preset at the factory. If you need to
change them, contact your local service representative for information on how to change
the keyboard switch settings.

Reset NVRAM

To reset NVRAM and all setup functions to their default settings, use the Up and Down
Arrow keys to highlight Reset NVRAM and press the Enter key. This resets the NVRAM
and counts the NVRAM counter up one to record the reset function.

Note:

The default Electronic Security Password is “OPR”.

Leaving the Offline System Manager Menu

Press the Reset key from the Offline System Manager menu to return to the Offline Test
menu (Figure 2-5 on Page 2-7).

To save the options you set on the Offline System Manager menu, after you leave this
menu you must highlight Go Online on the Offline Test menu and press the Enter key.

Product ID

Display product information by entering Offline Setup mode.

To enter Offline Setup mode, hold down any key while you turn the display station on.
The Offline Test menu is displayed (Figure 2-5 on Page 2-7).

To enter setup mode when the display station is online, press and hold down at the same
time the Reset key, the Alt key, and the Test key. The Offline Test menu is displayed
(Figure 2-5 on Page 2-7).

Use the Up and Down Arrow keys to highlight Product ID and press the Enter key. The
product number, 1481, is displayed. Press the tab key to display the PROM level.
