Chapter 5. Entry Assist
Description
The Entry Assist function enhances data entry, formatting, and editing on the 1481
Display Station. Access the Entry Assist function with the 104-key and 122-key
keyboards by pressing the ExSel key (EXSEL key for the 88-key keyboard) followed by
the PF13 (Document-On/Off) key. For display stations attached to 102-key keyboards,
press the Alt key and the ExSel key followed by the F1 key. Extended Select mode is
entered when the Extended Select key is pressed. In Extended Select mode, the
following keys become redefined to perform the Extended Select functions.
Note:
Entry Assist is a controller feature, available only if the display station is
attached to a controller that supports Entry Assist capability.
In addition to the format controls supported in Change Format mode and discussed
below, the following functions are supported in Document mode:

•
Audible alarm that indicates the approach of the end of the line
