Using a Memory Card
^Inserting a Memory Card
Before inserting a Memory Card, be sure to turn the Palmcorder off.
1 Slide the [OPEN] Lever to the right and open the Card Slot
Cover.
2 While holding the Memory Card with its cut corner facing
right, insert it into the Card Siot.
3 Close the Card Slot Cover.
^[ACCESS] Lamp
While the Palmcorder is accessing the Card (reading, recording, playback,
erasing, moving of images), the [ACCESS] Lamp O up.
• While the [ACCESS] Lamp is on, never attempt to open the Card
Compartment, to pull out the Card, to turn off the Palmcorder power, or to
switch the [TAPE/CARD] Selector. Such actions will damage the Card and
cause the Palmcorder to malfunction.
Recording on the Memory Card
Still pictures can be recorded on the Memory Card from the Palmcorder len
as well as from scenes that have already been recorded on a cassette.
The size of images that are recorded using this Palmcorder is approximate!)
1,080,000 pixels, and recording of images with a size that is larger than a
million pixels is called mega-pixel still-picture recording 53). Compared tc
images of normal recording, images that are created by mega-pixel still-
picture recording can be printed out clearer.
■ Card Photoshot
Recording a picture through the Palmcorder lens
(CAMERA Mode)
1 Slide the [TAPE/CARD] Selector to [CARD].
2 Set [PICTURE SIZE] in [CARD SETUP] Sub-Menu to
[1200X900] or [640X480].
3 Press the [PHOTO SHOT] Button.
• The [iQj] Indication light in red. O
• Mega-pixel recording (when you select [1200X900] in step 2) is useful for
taking clear pictures, but the following functions are disabled during mega
pixel recording.

• The power is automatically turned off after about 5 minutes when a cassett
has been inserted.
Recording from a cassette (VCR Mode)
Slide the [TAPE/CARD] Selector to [CARD].
! Start playback and press the [PHOTO SHOT] Button at the
scene you want to record.
• The size of the images input externally or recorded from a tape to the
card becomes [640X480].
• While the image is being recorded, it stays still for a few seconds.
Please refer to "Recording to a Card from other equipment”(-» 53),
regarding the recording to a card from other equipment.
Selecting the quality of Card Photoshot images

Set [CAMERA FUNCTIONS] or [VCR FUNCTIONS] » [CAR
SETUP] » [REC MODE] » a desired image quality (FINE,
NORMAL, ECONOMY).
• Please refer to page 58, conserning the Maximum Number of pictures th^
can be recorded on the supplied SD Memory Card.
