8.0 Flash Memory
CAUTION:Swap Bank and Reset or Swap Bank After Download and Reset
could disrupt service
Each 9145 has two flash memory banks that store software. The Active Flash Memory holds the
software currently in use and the Inactive Flash Memory holds the new software from a down-
load, or the older version of software from a previous upgrade. During an upgrade, new software
is downloaded to the inactive memory to avoid disrupting service.
From the Main Menu, type 7 and press
appears. The Software Upgrade screen provides information on the last restart time, the active
firmware version, the backup firmware version, and the bootcode. From the Software Upgrade
screen, the customer can download and install new firmware, swap active firmware banks, and
reset active firmware.
