1.0 Purpose
This manual provides installation and operating instructions for the 9145 Network Interface
Device (NID) version 6.0 software. The version 6.x software allows the customer to manage the
functions of the 9145 NID. The 9145 NID software is managed through five basic management
interfaces:
1. The VT-100 terminal, which interfaces through the RS-232 serial port of the 9145
2. Telnet terminal emulation software, through a remote terminal connected to the network
3. The SideBand Management Channel, an out-of-band management communication path
on the extension port
4. SNMP version 1, version 2c, and version 3
5. CanogaView
1.1 New Features
The following paragraphs describe the new features have been added to version 6.0 of the 9145
NID software.
1.1.1 SFP SM/MM Designation in UI
This feature allows the Single Mode/Multi Mode designation to be displayed on the Wavelength
line.
1.1.2 SFP Power Detection
This feature displays No Power if there is no signal.
1.1.3 RMTF Transmitted TRAP and Syslog Message
When the 9145 starts and stops sending Remote Fault to the Link Partner, it will be displayed on
the System Alarms screen and in the System Log.
