Attenuator radio button: Click to switch the attenuator in (check appears) or out (no check). This works
only if the
3 dB ATTEN
switch on the KXPA100 is in the
OUT/AUTO
position. The radio button cannot
change the attenuator state if the
3 dB ATTEN
switch on the KXPA100 is in the
IN
position. When the
KXPA100 is used in basic operation, the attenuator will switch in automatically when the RF drive from
the transceiver exceeds 8 watts (see Faults on page 32).
Faults Reported by the KXPA Utility
Faults occur to protect the amplifier and ATU if a dangerous, abnormal condition occurs. Normal KXPA100
amplifier or KXAT100 ATU operation is suspended until the fault condition is corrected. If a fault occurs, a
plain text description will appear in the window. Faults will clear in 8 seconds after the condition causing the
fault is corrected. Click on
CLEAR
to reset the fault immediately without waiting the full 8 seconds.

HI DISSIPATION
PA is dissipating too much power as heat.
Dissipated power is input supply voltage times PA
drain current less output power.
