18. P const vacuum control mode
In this mode, a vacuum level once selected will be maintained. Set Vacuum key sets the level and

Change between Act Vacuum, Set Vacuum and Set
p with Select key. Act Vacuum LED, Set Vacuum
LED, or Set
p LED will illuminate.
Select Set Vacuum LED for setting the nominal 
vacuum level. 
The nominal suction pressure in mbar appears in 
your display. 
Change nominal suction pressure level with the Set 
keys. 
Not pressing one of these keys for 5 seconds will 
return the unit to “Act” mode. The last figure entered 
is saved.

Use SET keys as required. 
The Start Stop key starts evacuation. 
Press the key for an instant to interrupt evacuation without opening the aerating valve, Valve LED 
flashing; one more brief press on this key continues evacuation. 
Extended actuation of the Start Stop key discontinues evacuation, the aerating valve opens, and 
the vacuum valve is closed. 
Vacuum LED illuminates, when “vacuum control” was selected with the Start Stop key. 
Ventilation LED illuminates, when the aerating valve is open. 
Valve LED illuminates, when the vacuum valve is open.
Valve LED flashes, when evacuation was interrupted without aeration.
 
 
19. T auto vacuum control mode
In this mode, vacuum pressure level is controlled by an optional temperature sensor. For 
installation refer to Options Section (page 120). 
T auto is a low-pollution mode. This special vacuum control allows very low quantities of solvents 
to be extracted by the vacuum pump. 
The T auto temperature sensor detects temperature in the middle of the condenser. 
For cooling water temperature, the LABOROTA 20 control automatic uses a separate temperature 
sensor (act Chiller).
