Cleaning the platen
Remove the ribbon. Carefully clean the platen
with platen roller cleaner (available from dea-
lers).
Remove dust carefully from the platen.
Avoid touching parts and compon-
ents in the printer interior.
Ribbon
Check whether the ribbon is worn or damaged. The ribbon must be
replaced if it is frayed, see
Changing the ribbon cassette (page 11)
and Error messages via the display (page 102).
Cleaning the upper friction
Clean the rollers of the upper friction as neces-
sary with a mild cleaning agent and a soft, lint-
free cloth.
Avoid touching the pin rollers.
Carriage shafts
Carriage shafts must not be oiled or greased; otherwise
damage will occur on the printer.
