When using a batch file, comments begin with a ‘#’ hash symbol. If not on a
separate line, the hash symbol could be interpreted as part of a user or
organization name.

password reset

The password reset command resets a user’s password. This command is used
with an organization using the PMP password policy configuration.

This command is applicable to the Google Message Security, Google Message
Discovery, and Google Message Filtering products only.

Syntax

password reset user= [, password=] [, notify=]

Example

To reset an individual user’s password to a randomly derived password using
the organization’s password policies:

password reset [email protected]

To reset an individual user’s PMP password to a specific password using the
user’s organization’s password policies, and to send the user a notification of
the password update:
