8.2 LOADING AND UNLOADING THE MACHINE ON TRANSPORT VEHICLES
USING RAMPS
The JLG platform offers high manoeuvrability and stability even in travelling configuration.
Despite this, the user must work with care even when carrying out the simplest operations.
For example, follow the procedure below to load the machine on a lorry:
‑
park the lorry or trailer on a flat surface;
‑
make sure that the ramps do not exceed a maximum inclination of 15°;
‑
make sure that the ramps and the trailer have the capacity to support the machine and
are free from debris or slippery material;
‑
position the ramps parallel to each other at a distance equal to the space between the
tracks;
‑
climb the ramps, proceeding with the basket facing backwards;
‑
when approaching the loading surface, before the change in inclination, ALWAYS check
that the JIB arm is COMPLETELY FOLDED. Then proceed with great care in order to
prevent sudden jolts when passing from the sloping ramps to the lorry or trailer flatbed;
‑
position the machine so that none of its parts protrude from the transport vehicle.
Unload the machine following the same instructions given above.
ALWAYS load/unload the machine with extended undercarriage.
During travel and when changing slope, make sure not to damage the safety devices positio‑
ned under the basket.
If the change in inclination is excessive, adjust the angle of the ramps or, if this is not
possible, use longer ramps. It is also possible to use the jib arm as described earlier.
It is recommended to load/unload the machine using the remote control at the side of the
same, keeping a MINIMUM distance of 1 metre.
