re-clamp it, making sure it still aligns with the

holes already drilled.

9. If installing Crusher Corners with holes

for 2-1/2” backup lamps, use the fine-tip felt

marker to mark these holes to be cut later.

10. Un-clamp and remove the Crusher Corner,

then use the to 17/32” drill bit to open up

each of the holes to the larger size. Be

careful when drilling, as the thin sheetmetal

may want to catch on the bit and deform it,

making the subsequent nut-sert installation

more difficult.

11. If installing Crusher Corners with holes for

2-1/2” backup lamps, cut these holes now at

the locations that were marked in Step 9. A

2-3/4” hole saw works best for this.

12. Install a 5/16-18 nut-sert into each of

the holes that were drilled out to 17/32”.

Follow the procedure given in the separate

instruction sheet “Using the Nut-Sert Install

Tool”. Do not re-install the un-painted

Crusher Corner yet--set it aside and move

on to the passenger side.

13. Use a flat screwdriver to gently pry the

plastic covers from the body side of the

tailgate hinges (leave the covers on the

tailgate side of the hinges).

14. Repeat Steps 3 through 12 for the

passenger side. You will not have the fuel

filler trim piece to help you align the Crusher

Corner on the passenger side, so you will

have to be even more careful with your

measurements to ensure that the Crusher

Corner is on straight when you clamp it firmly

in place.

15. Paint or powder-coat the Crusher Corners.

If painting them yourself, be sure to use a

quality etching primer, followed by the paint

color of your choice. It is important to make

sure the inside surfaces of the Crusher

Corners are properly coated to ensure

against rust.

16. Install the finished Crusher Corners using

the supplied stainless steel button head

hardware.

IMPORTANT! Do NOT over-tighten the button

head cap screws, as you may accidentally “spin”

the Nut-Sert if you over-tighten!
29. If installing LED taillights, follow the

instructions that came with them for proper

wiring.
