HAWSE FAIRLEAD LIGHT MOUNT INSTALL
The Poison Spyder Customs Hawse Fairlead
Light Mount is a simple way to add two auxiliary
lights to most off-road vehicles equipped with
Hawse-type winch fairleads. This mount is
designed to work Poison Spyder and most other
manufacturers’ Hawse winch fairleads.
Installation is fairly simple with the right tools
and good mechanical abilities. If you are not
confident in your mechanical skills, please
seek the help of a professional to perform the
installation. Please read through these entire
instructions before proceeding with installation.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
VERY IMPORTANT: Read and follow your winch
manufacturer’s Owners Manual and Operating
Instructions prior to operating your winch. Follow
all safety precautions during any operation of
your winch.
1. Park the vehicle in a suitable workspace
and set the parking brake. Use the winch
controller to loosen tension in the winchline
and feed out a couple feet of line. Disconnect
the negative battery cable in order to ensure
power is cut to the winch.
2. Remove any existing hook or shackle
from your winchline thimble (assuming the
winchline is already installed) and push it
back through the fairlead so that it no longer
comes through. If the hook is not removable,
put the winch’s gearbox lever in neutral
and un-spool the winch rope or cable, then
disconnect it from the winch drum.
3. Remove the existing fairlead by removing
the two bolts/nuts at either side of the
fairlead. Set the bolts/nuts aside as you will
re-use them.
4. Align the Hawse Fairlead Light Mount so
that the two mounting holes correspond with
the mounting holes in the bumper or fairlead
mount, with the light mount tabs above the
fairlead opening and facing forward. Align
the Hawse Fairlead similarly, so that the Light
Mount is sandwiched between the fairlead
and the bumper or mounting plate.
5. Reinstall the two bolts/nuts to hold the
fairlead and Fairlead Light Mount in place.
If the bolt’s threads do not reach completely
through the nut, replace them with longer
bolts of the same type.
3. Push the thimble end of the winchline back
through the fairlead and re-attach the hook or
shackle. If your hook is not removable and
you had to un-spool your winch line, thread
it through the fairlead from the front and re-
attach it to the drum so that it rolls onto the
bottom of the drum, and spool the rope or
cable back onto the drum.
6. Stow the hook on a nearby tow point where
you usually keep it when not in use. Put the
winch gearbox in neutral and manually roll
up the slack in the winchline, then re-engage
the winch gearbox. Re-connect the battery
