AF-Area Mode
Choose how the focus area for autofocus is selected in modes
other than

Press the P button.
Shooting information will
be displayed in the
monitor.

Option Description
! Face-priority AF
The camera automatically detects and focuses
on portrait subjects. Use for portraits.
$ Wide-area AF
Use for hand-held shots of landscapes and
other non-portrait subjects. Use the multi
selector to position the focus area.
% Normal-area AF
Use for pin-point focus on a selected spot in
the frame.
& Subject-tracking AF
Track a selected subject as it moves through
the frame.
