Supported storage platforms and firmware
Unless otherwise specified, the term array in this document refers to the following supported storage
platforms:
•
HP XP12000 Disk Array
•
HP XP10000 Disk Array
•
HP 200 Storage Virtualization System
For supported firmware versions, see HP XP Remote Web Console user guide for
XP12000/XP10000 Disk Arrays and SVS200.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites for using this product include:
•
Installing the HP disk array(s)
•
Installing the license key for this product
System requirements
XP External Storage operations involve the local array, a storage array used as an external array,
and the licensed XP External Storage feature enabled on XP Command View Advanced Edition
Software or Remote Web Console. System requirements for XP External Storage are:
•
Local array (first array)
Install and enable all hardware and microcode required for XP External Storage operations
in the local array.
CAUTION:
Before installing and enabling the hardware and microcode, see
cache with external storage” (page 46)
for instructions.
NOTE:
Currently only an XP12000/XP10000/SVS200 can be used as a local array.

External array (second array)
You also need a second storage device, called an external array in this user guide. For more
