IMPORTANT:

You should not meet any resistance while removing the magazine. However, if there has

been a power failure, a cartridge may be not be fully seated in the magazine slot. If it feels

as if there is an obstruction, stop. Do not try to pull the magazine out by force; you may

damage the autoloader. Contact your HP support representative.

Inability to insert or remove a magazine (also error 8D)

It is possible that a tape is not fully inserted in the magazine but the magazine is still allowed to be

loaded in the autoloader. This tape could then come out further and obstruct the robot.

If the magazine inserted was the left magazine

1.

Power down the unit.

2.

Remove the autoloader from the rack.

3.

Tilt it so the left side of the autoloader is facing up.

4.

Gently rock the autoloader and listen for the sound of a cartridge coming out of the magazine and

or rattling around. If there is no loose cartridge sound, set the autoloader down and contact you

local service representative.

5.

If there is a rattling sound, tilt the autoloader so that the front right corner is the lowest point and then

gently set the autoloader down on a horizontal surface

6.

Manually release and remove the right magazine.

7.

The cartridge should be visible in the opening for the right magazine. Reach in and pull it out.

8.

Replace the right magazine.

9.

Manually remove the left magazine.
