Selected pool volumes table – HP XP RAID Manager Software User Manual
Page 92

NOTE:
After you remove the pool-VOL that is set as the top pool-VOL, the pool-VOL that is now
displayed at the top of the Selected pool volumes table will be the new top pool-VOL.
The top pool-VOL is not set when the pool is expanded.
Up to 1024 volumes can be added, including volumes that already exist in the pool.
When you add a volume to a pool for which Smart Pool is enabled, consider the following:
•
Drive Type/RPM for the volume to be added must be up to 3.
•
When adding volumes to a pool, one RAID Level must be set for one Drive Type/RPM.
A volume whose Drive Type/RPM is SAS/15k and RAID level is 5(3D+1P), and a volume
whose Drive Type/RPM is SAS/15k and RAID level is 5(7D+1P), cannot be added to the
same pool.
•
The top pool-VOL cannot be removed from the pool, so the tier to which the top poo-VOL
belong cannot be removed.
When you add volumes to a pool where Smart Pool is disabled, consider the following:
•
Drive Type/RPM for the volume to be added must be up to 3.
•
The volumes to be added to the pool must be the same RAID level.
