Removing Cartridges from the Library
5. Remove the cartridge from the mailslot. To eject additional cartridges,
repeat step 4 until all cartridges to eject are removed.
6. Press CANCEL twice to return to the drive status (“ready” state).
If a Tape Cartridge Will Not Eject

Message Cause
EMPTY displays,

The library storage slots are empty.
EJECT ERROR The mailslot is jammed. If a cartridge in the mailslot cannot be removed, or
if the problem cannot be fixed, call a service representative.
MAILSLOT FULL A cartridge must be removed from the mailslot before another cartridge
can be ejected.
SOURCE NOW
EMPTY
The cartridge was moved from that slot before it could be ejected.
RESERVED SECURE MS has been set. This option prevents cartridges from being
loaded into or removed from the library. See “Setting a Configuration
Option” on page 4-27.
TRANSPORT
FULL
The cartridge transport mechanism already contains a tape cartridge.
Consult your software package documentation. A service call may be
needed.
