1.8 GETTING STARTED
Learn how to install, configure and more. Listed below is an overview of things you need to know to get up and
running. Before starting the user must decide whether to do a first time install or an upgrade. Each NonStop node
that you want to participate in your Web ViewPoint network (i.e. Residents and Neighborhoods) will require a copy
of Web ViewPoint to be installed. Planning your configuration is an important first step which includes identifying
what Nodes will be included, what users will be added and where the Web ViewPoint files will be located. All of
this information should be documented before starting the install process.
The upgrade option can use a regular or an Evaluation version provided it is a compatible version (i.e. AAH or
later). There are specific requirements defined in
that will need to be in place before starting the
install.
Here is some of the basic information about your NonStop node that is needed before you start your install:
Node Name
IP address or Fully qualified DNS Name
(e.g.: 11.22.333.44 or ab3.caba.tes.ctest.net)
Installation Volume and SubVol (target directory)
User Name and Password
If you are upgrading the Web ViewPoint instance then you will also need the following information:
Location of your existing Web ViewPoint Configuration Files
Backup subvolume (if you are importing over to the same subvolume)
