The audit log is also stored in the SVP. The audit log that is stored in the SVP has the same format as the
audit log that is transferred to syslog servers. You can download the stored audit log to the Remote Web
Console computer as a syslog information file.
Only the storage administrator can configure syslog servers for transferring the audit log or can
download the syslog information file. To configure syslog servers, Audit Log Administrator Role needs
to be set to Modify for the user account of that storage administrator. If Audit Log Administrator
Role is set to View, the storage administrator can view the Syslog window and download the syslog
information file, but not change the setting of the Syslog window. For details on the Syslog window,
see “
For how to transfer the audit log to the syslog servers, how to download the syslog information file to the
Remote Web Console computer, or to read the audit log of syslog, see the HP StorageWorks XP24000
Audit Log User and Reference Guide.
The following figure shows an example of the configuration including syslog servers.

Overview of Configuration File Loader Operations
Configuration File Loader is used to make large-scale or batch changes to the configuration of certain
program product options, using either a text editor or spreadsheet software to edit configuration definition
files (spreadsheet files) and apply the changes. You can apply the same spreadsheet file to different
storage systems, and you can define the configuration when you are offline.
Currently Configuration File Loader supports only HP Storage Works XP LUN Manager and HP
StorageWorks XP Volume Retention Manager. For further information on these program product options,
see the corresponding documents.
Overview of SSL-Encrypted Communications
In order to improve security of remote operations from a Remote Web Console to a storage system, you
can set up SSL-encrypted communication. With SSL-encrypted communication, the user ID and password
required for logging in to the Remote Web Console are encrypted, and you can communicate with a
higher level of security.
For detailed information on the SSL-encrypted communication, see your HP service representative.
