Managing the Database
The FastCalXP database stores all of the information entered into or acquired by the program. The database is a Microsoft Access format database that is ac-
cessible from within FastCalXP. All user-entered data related to Gauges, Units, References and Users can be edited by an administrator. Administrator-defi ned
privileges may also permit access to some portions of the database by a technician. Refer to the discussion of
in the
section.
Calibration data collected by FastCalXP cannot be edited by the user. This data can be viewed and printed in the form of certifi cates only.
To Modify or Add to the Editable Portions of the Database
From the Tools menu, choose
Manage Database
to open the Database Manager.
For management purposes, the database consists of eight tables which can be accessed via the buttons in the Database Manager.
To Change the Current Database
Click the
Change button
in the lower right corner of the Database Manager.
If Multiple Database Support has been enabled in the Options dialog, you will be taken to the Select
FastCalXP
Database dialog. Otherwise, use the Open
dialog to browse your directories to fi nd the .MDB fi le that you wish to load.
