If the new gauge is a transmitter and
Measure HART
was selected, the New Gauge Wizard will display a HART Information dialog box.
The
Manufacturer ID
, the
Device type ID
and the
Device ID
combined together form the unique ID, defi ned by the manufacturer, that is used to communi-
cate with a smart transmitter during the calibration session. This ID can be entered manually by consulting the transmitter documentation or determined
automatically by FastCalXP.

If the smart transmitter is powered on and connected to a HART modem which is connected to one of the computer’s serial ports, click on the
Discover…
button
to automatically poll the default com port for HART information.

If the HART modem is not connected to the default COM port, click
Stop
.
Select the correct COM port from the pull-down list and press the
Start button
.
The HART Modem will poll the network for any devices connected and display the results. Select the desired HART device from the list and press the
OK button
to enter the ID of the desired transmitter.

Click the
Finish button
to store the new gauge and close the New Gauge Wizard.
When the
New Gauge Wizard
has been completed FastCalXP will automatically load the new gauge.
