CONNECTING FOR THE FIRST TIME
STEP 1: CONNECT THE DATA LOGGER TO THE PC
Refer to the Operator’s Manual for your data logger for specific
information on connecting the device to your computer’s serial port and
supplying it with external power, if desired.
STEP 2: START WIN-SITU
Start Win-Situ with one of these methods:
• double-click the Win-Situ 2000 shortcut on the desktop
• use the Start Menu to select it from the item “In-Situ Inc.”
Note that you cannot run Win-Situ from the CD or floppy disk; the
program must be installed to your local hard drive (see page 2).
CAUTION: In-Situ’s MiniTROLL communicates via RS485
protocols. An RS485/RS232 converter is necessary to talk to
a MiniTROLL.
