Tape on the surface of the cur-

Staples, pins, or any other foreign
body attached to the notes.
Corner folds of a size greater than
1/2” on either axis.
Two or more notes joined by any
means.
Excessively crumpled or crinkled.

Use the following procedures to pre-
pare notes before inserting them into
a note cassette.

Remove the band around each
bundle of notes.
Removing band.
Removing torn/worn notes.

Remove the band around each bundle
of notes. Separate the notes from each
other by:
Striking the bundle hard against
the edge of a table or similar
object.
Flipping through each bundle of
notes in both directions at each
end.
Using a note counter.
Remove foreign objects (e.g. pins,
paper clips, crumbs, etc.).
Remove torn or very worn notes.
Straighten any folded notes.
