Changing the lens by one with a smaller focal length
Widening the distance between the Fabry-Perot optics
o Using the Z-ADJ screw
Moving the laser away from the lens
o The laser beam must be in the linear part when it is hitting the lens. Make sure the laser is far
enough away from the lens.
4.15. Laser diode doughnut noise at the extremities
With laser diodes, some aberrations can appear if a measure is taken beyond the Rayleigh range. The possibility
to modify ROI for each beam will be added in the next PC-Beamage-3.0 version and will correct this problem.
4.16. Astigmatism appears where it is not expected
Verify your alignment. Please refer to the “There is a curve in the alignment of the beams” section (4.5) to
resolve this problem.
4.17. The software crashes or reboots automatically
4.17.1. Known software issue for the Real Time Calibration Mode
As soon as the “Send Diameter to M2” function has been activated in the single beam application, this function
must not be stopped before finishing all M2 measurements. This function starts a communication between the
two applications. When all M2 measurements are finished, this function can be stopped and we strongly suggest
closing both applications before doing any other measurements or manipulations with any of the two PC-
Beamage-3.0 software instances. That is, as soon as the “Send Diameter to M2” has been stopped, both
instances of PC-Beamage-3.0 must be closed.
4.17.2. The camera is not recognized when starting the software

4.18. No solution could resolve my problem
Please contact the Gentec-EO support team. It will be a pleasure to help you achieve the most precise M

measurements possible.
