Hard Drive Cable

The following procedure explains how to remove a three-headed hard drive cable from the
Xserve G5 server. The procedure is similar for Xserve G5 (Cluster Node), except that the
hard drive cable has just a single connector at each end.

Tools

No tools are required for this procedure.

Preliminary Steps

Before you begin, do the following:
• Open the server and place the bottom housing on a sturdy, flat surface.
• Remove the PCI fan duct.
