Configuring
Intelligent Modules
You can configure intelligent modules such as the Switch Layer 3 Module
and the Switch ATM Expansion module.
Setting Module Configuration
You can set the IP configuration for an intelligent module using the
define
command on the Module menu. To set the IP configuration for
the Module:
1 At the top-level menu, enter:
system module define
The following prompt is displayed:
Enter IP Address [0.0.0.0]:
2 Enter the IP address for the module.
The following prompt is displayed:
Enter subnet mask [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]:
3 Enter the subnet mask for the module.
The following prompt is displayed:
Enter default router [0.0.0.0]:
4 Enter the default router for the module.
The new addresses are displayed before exiting.
Displaying Module Configuration
You can display the configuration of a module using the
display
command on the System Module menu.
At the top-level menu, enter:
system module display
The intelligent module configuration details are displayed.
Enabling and Disabling the Module Interface
You can enable or disable the intelligent module using the
mode
command on the System Module menu. To do this:
1 At the top-level menu, enter:
system module mode
The following prompt is displayed:
Enter new value (enable, disable) [enable]:
