Connecting
To connect the internal modem cable, follow the steps below.
CAUTIONS: 1. In case of a lightning storm, unplug the modem cable
from the telephone jack.
2. Do not connect the modem to a digital telephone line.
A digital line will damage the modem.
1.
Plug one end of the modular cable into the modem jack.
2.
Plug the other end of the modular cable into a telephone jack.

CAUTION: Do not pull on the cable or move the computer while the
cable is connected.
NOTE: If you use a storage device such as a CD-ROM drive or HDD
connected to a 16-bit PC card, modem speed might be slow or communi-
cation might be interrupted.
Disconnecting
To disconnect the internal modem cable, follow the steps below.
1.
Pinch the lever on the connector in the telephone jack and pull out the
connector.
2. Disconnect the cable from the computer in the same manner.
3. In the same way, pull the cable’s other connector out of the computer.
