API Over TruePort Only
If you have a custom application that talks to a serial port, you can use TruePort as a virtual serial
port to communicate with the IOLAN over the network to access I/O data using the Perle API. See
Accessing I/O Data Via TruePort on page 160 for more information on the API.)
The host running TruePort must be in I/O API mode.
