Advanced Tab Field Descriptions
The
TruePort Advanced
tab determines how the TruePort connection is initiated and then sets up the
appropriate connection parameters.
Configure the following parameters:
Signals high
when...
When a TruePort line becomes active, this option has the following impact:
z
TruePort Lite Mode—When enabled, the EIA-232 signals remain high
(active) before, during, and after the TruePort session. When disabled, the
EIA-232 signals remain low (inactive).
z
TruePort Full Mode—During the session, the TruePort client will be
control the state of these signal before and after the connection.
Default: Enabled
Enable Message of
the Day (MOTD)
Enables/disables the display of the message of the day.
Default: Disabled
Idle Timeout
Use this timer to close a connection because of inactivity. When the
Idle
Timeout
expires, the IOLAN will end the connection.
Default:
0
seconds so the port will never timeout
Range: 0-4294967 seconds (about 49 days)
Session Timeout
Use this timer to forcibly close the session/connection when the
Session
Timeout
expires.
Default:
0
seconds so the port will never timeout
Range: 0-4294967 seconds (about 49 days)
Dial In
If the device is remote and will be dialing in via modem or ISDN TA, enable
this parameter.
Default: Disabled
Dial Out
If you want the modem to dial a number when the serial port is started, enable
this parameter.
Default: Disabled
