Commands used for configuring network interfaces
When configuring network interfaces, the following NetBIOS commands from
/var/opt/nbrfc/bin
are used:
The
cr_interfaces
command creates the
/var/opt/nbrfc/conf/interfaces.cfg
configuration file
based on the information found in the UNIX system at runtime. The program runs at instal-
lation time but it can also be executed manually by the administrator e.g. to add a new
interface.
Syntax:
cr_interfaces [-F]
Options:
-F
Force the creation of a new file. (Normally, an existing file is not overwritten.)
The
get_config
command reads the
interfaces.cfg
file; it does validity checks and displays er-
ror and/or warning messages as appropriate.
Syntax:
get_config
Use
get_config
before restarting NetBIOS whenever the
interfaces.cfg
file has changed in
order to detect inconsistent or faulty configurations.
Example output of get_config:
In order to check a new
interfaces.cfg
file you should compare the output of
get_config
with
the output of corresponding
ifconfig(1M)
commands.
The
nbconfig
command is used to view or to administer the state of the NetBIOS interfaces.
