2 Installation
5.
Click on the
Resources
tab, and note the Conflicting Device
List; if there is a conflict between your modem and another
device in your computer, the information appears here. For
help in resolving a conflict, click on the
Start
button, click on
Help
, and then search the Help index for the Hardware
Conflict Troubleshooter.

Exit the
System Properties
sheet.
7.
In
Control Panel
, double-click on the
Modems
icon.
8.
When the
Modems Properties
sheet appears, click on the
Diagnostics
tab. A list of ports and the devices installed on
them appears.
9.
Click on the COM port the Multi-Tech MT5634ZPX is
installed on, then click on the More Info button to make sure
Windows 95 can communicate with the modem. Clicking on
the More Info button causes Windows 95 to send commands
to and receive responses from the modem, and to display
information about the modem’s COM port.
10. Write down the modem’s port, interrupt, address, and
highest speed. You will need this information to set up any
“legacy” (non-Windows 95) communications software you
install.

11. Click on the
General
tab. Select the Multi-Tech MT5634ZPX
and click on the
Properties
button to review the modem’s
default communications settings. Do not change any settings
unless you have special requirements.
12. Click on the
Dialing Properties
button and review your
dialing settings. If you must dial
9
to get an outside line, type
9 in the local and long distance boxes. If you have call
waiting service, disable it to prevent it from interrupting a
data or fax transmission.
13. Exit the
Modems Properties
sheet.
