If the Magnetic TDC timing test is to be run, SELECT an offset and press NEXT.
If the Strobe Light timing test is to be run, use the fingertip control buttons to align the
mark with TDC and press the SAVE DATA button on the light or the NEXT key on the
Diagnostic Center. The screen will prompt you to raise the RPM to 2500. Raise the
RPM, align the mark, and SAVE DATA again. In the magnetic test, a reading will be
taken automatically once the engine reaches 2500 RPM.
If a DIS engine was selected during Engine Setup , or the Diagnostic Center was
unable to suppress the ignition during the Starting/Charging History test, the Power
Contribution test will be run next. The screen will show:
Engine Warm - Disable Engine Control
Switch off all accessories.
Switch heater fan & lights on HI.
Press ÛNEXT to continue.
Press NEXT, and the power contribution graph will appear:

On a distributor engine with the coil (-) lead connected, the Power Balance test is run.
In that case, after pre-test preparations are made as above, this screen appears:
Start 1150 RPM Killing End 1030 RPM

The readings will be displayed while ignition to each cylinder is suppressed in turn.
