The Starting/Charging test is next. The Diagnostic Center will prompt you to zero the amp
probe, and will display this screen:
STARTING/CHARGING HISTORY
Switch off all accessories.
Set the brakes for safety.
Best results if engine is warm. Û
Press NEXT, and crank the engine for 15 seconds, or until prompted to stop. A progress
timer appears in the lower right hand corner of the screen.

Crank engine 15 seconds
225 RPM Battery 10.23 Volt
134 Amps 9 Seconds
At the end of the test, a prompt to start and run the engine over 1500 RPM will appear. This
ensures that the regulator “kicks in”, so that full charging current can be measured.
Select the internal battery temperature and press NEXT.
The Diagnostic Center will capture the Ignition Primary test readings and will then
prompt you to abruptly open the throttle to set minimums and maximums for the Ignition
Secondary test.

ABRUPTLY open throttle to set
Minimum and Maximum spark mS and KVs
The Timing test will be run if either the Stroboscopic Light or the Magnetic TDC Detector
is connected to the Diagnostic Center. If both are connected, the TDC test will be run.
If neither is connected, the test will be skipped.
For either test, this screen will appear:
Prepare the engine for timing test
according to manufactures specification.
Run engine at idle RPM
Press ÛNEXT to continue.
