Maintenance interval: daily, and when switching between dye
and pigment inks.
Cleaning the service station helps to prevent dried ink from
clogging the ink jets. Keep a replacement set of boots and wipers
on hand to replace damaged or worn boots and wipers. Order a
replacement kit, ColorSpan part number 0900782, which
includes twelve boots and twelve wipers.
Caution
To avoid contaminating the ink, keep water away
from the boots and boot holders during this proce-
dure.
1.
From the Front Page screen on the control panel, press the
Carriage key.
This moves the printhead carriage out to the center of the
platen.
2.
Open the service station access door.
3.
Reach inside the right endcap (behind the control panel) and
lift the service station out of the printer.
Hold the service station level to avoid spilling any ink that
may be present.
4.
Hold the service station with the wipers under a stream of
water.
Rinse as much ink as possible from the wipers.
