Shooting features

Shooting with the Bulb setting or Time setting (when in mode)

Shooting with the Bulb setting or Time setting
(when in mode)

Use the Bulb setting or Time setting to capture images with a long time-exposure,

such as when taking pictures of fireworks, night landscapes, the night sky, or car light

trails. The maximum exposure time for both the Bulb and Time setting is 60 seconds.

Option

Description

Bulb

The shutter remains open while the shutter-release button is pressed, and it

closes when the button is released.

Time

The shutter opens when the shutter-release button is pressed all the way down,

and it closes when the button is pressed all the way down again.

Stabilize the camera by using a tool such as a tripod.

Rotate the command dial to a slower speed until the shutter

speed indicator displays [Bulb] or [Time].

Press the shutter-release button after setting the focus.

Bulb: Hold down the shutter-release button until the desired exposure time elapses.

Time: Press the shutter-release button all the way down again when the desired

exposure time elapses.

When the exposure time reaches 60 seconds, the shutter automatically closes and

shooting ends.
