Using the zoom
Using the snap-back zoom (temporarily widening the
visible range)
If you lose sight of the subject while shooting with the lens in telephoto position,
press the (snap-back zoom) button to temporarily widen the visible area so that
you can frame the subject more easily.
• While pressing the button, frame the subject inside the framing border (

) of
the shooting screen. To widen the visible area further, move the zoom control
toward
while pressing the button.
• Release the button to return to the original zoom position.
• You can select the setup menu [
Snap-back zoom
] to specify the size of the
area that is visible when the button is pressed.
• Snap-back zoom is not available in the following situations.
- While pressing the shutter-release button halfway
- During movie recording
