response and updates the mailbox ID according to the originating request:

The purpose for the mailbox supporting a positive and negative value is so the
remote device can trigger consecutive requests for the same mailbox by
switching the value between positive and negative. For example, to request 3
consecutive Get Module time the block ID could be switched as +9970, -9970,
+9970.
